Wordfence 2FA Setup for WordPress (Free) | Secure Your Login the Right Way

Gerry Manzari Written by Gerry Manzari · January 4, 2026 · 1 min read

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to install Wordfence, activate the free license, and set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your WordPress website.

With 2FA enabled, even if someone gets hold of your WordPress password, they won’t be able to access your admin area without a one-time authentication code. I’ll also walk through how to safely whitelist your IP address so you don’t accidentally lock yourself out.

This setup is simple, beginner-friendly, and adds an important extra layer of security without overcomplicating things.
