Locked out of your WordPress site by Wordfence? Seeing this message? “Your access to this site has been temporarily limited… (HTTP 503)” This usually happens after too many failed login attempts and your IP address gets blocked. In this tutorial, I show you how to regain access using SSH. While I’m demonstrating this on AWS Lightsail (Bitnami), this method works on any hosting provider where you have SSH access to your WordPress installation. If you're using cPanel without SSH access, you can temporarily disable Wordfence by renaming the plugin folder inside: public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence On many VPS hosts — including AWS — WordPress email is not configured by default, which is why the “email recovery” option may not work. The exact commands used in this video are available here: 👉 https://manzari.com/wordpress-tutorials/locked-out-by-wordfence-503-error-fix-aws-lightsail/ Once you regain access: • Reactivate Wordfence • Go to Wordfence → Firewall → Blocking • Remove your IP from the block list Hope this helps! — Manzari
